Job Description

Synopsis:

At SLR we are growing our Carbon Management and Energy Efficiency Team and have an opportunity to join our ambitious team to help deliver and manage carbon compliance and environmental policy services to our clients. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and pragmatic individual who wants to help influence our development and be part of the driving force behind it. We are currently looking to recruit consultants to work with key clients to help them meet and understand their carbon obligations; the role will also involve work and liaison with the private and public sector, government departments and their agencies.

Key Tasks:

Lead proposals in the area of carbon compliance work liaising with colleagues from all regions globally.

Manage the delivery of carbon compliance projects including progress reporting and leading relationships with clients.

Maintain and develop carbon databases and models. Manage the collection and input of data, together with its analysis, understanding of performance, the production of relevant and engaging outputs and communicating this to clients.

Develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and operate at a senior management level within organisations.Technical Skills, Abilities, Experience:

Work with the Head of the Carbon and Energy Team to recruit junior consultants and help shape the future of the team.

To ensure knowledge of carbon policy, carbon reporting methodologies and broader energy and sustainability developments is up to date.

Lead a project team delivering carbon compliance projects.

Work with the Head of the Carbon and Energy Team and the relevant Sector Lead to identify new opportunities and work with clients to develop these into projects.

Data analysis using a rigorous methodology

Assist with and review compliance with regards to CCA’s, ESOS, CRC and EU ETS and have an understanding of UK carbon policy

 

Person Specification

Technical Skills, Abilities, Experience:

Essential:

  • Proficient with Excel
  • Knowledge of GHG compliance

Desirable:

  • Energy modelling experience
  • Detailed knowledge of the regulatory landscape including CRC, CCA, EUETS, ESOS

Education, Qualifications, Memberships:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level with a relevant subject

Desirable:

  • Masters degree in relevant subject

Personal Attributes:

  • An ability to work well with colleagues, clients and contractors
  • Ability to work both in a team and under own initiative
  • Reliable, conscientious and committe

Additional Requirements:

  • Full driving license
  • Able to undertake short term travel within the UK and overseas
