Landfill: Design, Construction & Supervision (AUS)

This project has focused on the continued development of the Elizabeth Drive Landfill site required the construction of clay-lined landfill cells to receive non-putrescible general solid waste.  The landfill site is located on Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek approximately 41km west of the Sydney CBD.

Project Objectives:

SITA Australia engaged SLR to provide detailed design services, CQA Plan submission and CQA supervision for their Cell E2, E3 and E4 at Elizabeth Drive Landfill, Kemps Creek, NSW.  The design included a groundwater management system, engineered clay liner, geosynthetics and a leachate collection and management system.  Full time independent supervision was required to ensure the works were constructed in accordance with the NSW EPA approved design documentation.

Our Role

SLR undertook the following works:

  • Detailed Design / Technical Specification SLR undertook the detailed design for Cells E2, E3 and E4 incorporating a technical specification, CQA Plan, design drawings and Bill of Quantities
  •  CQA Supervision SLR provided construction supervision for the groundwater relief drain installation, engineered clay liner and leachate drainage system installation. A Project Engineer was deployed full-time to coordinate the construction quality assurance (CQA)
  • CQA Documentation CQA documentation for the completed works, including daily reports, construction drawings, photographs and test results were included in a final report that was submitted for approval to the NSW EPA
