Case Study

Marine Energy Supplier Capability (IRE)

To maximise the opportunity provided by the vast marine energy natural resource offshore Ireland, an assessment of the current and potential capabilities of Irish industry to supply products and services to the marine renewable energy sector in Ireland was carried out. The assessment produced a graphic generic supply chain diagram for marine renewable energy. Bottlenecks in the current international supply chain, niche areas with significant growth potential and gaps in the Irish supply chain were identified from desk research and interviews with stakeholders. A Directory of Irish Companies with potential to supply products and services to the marine renewable energy sector was complied showing their position in the supply chain and if they occupy a niche or bottleneck with significant growth potential.
