Challenge
The client has a number of facilities across the USA. The objectives were to identify cost effective energy and carbon savings and to develop a pipeline of evaluated and costed opportunities.
Solution
SLR provided sector specific experts as well as energy and carbon specialists who worked together using virtual teams to provide a cost effective and timely output. At the same time SLR conducted an ISO50001 gap analysis, to enable energy management systems to align with best practices.
Impact
Opportunities developed included use of waste heat, infrastructure operational optimisation, and improvements in power generation & gas turbine operations, such as the inclusion of absorption chillers. Through close work with corporate technical functions, facilities teams, on site audits, and data analysis, the best solutions for the client were developed with minimal project costs.
Follow on work at additional facilities has been planned.
