Pawtucket Downtown Redevelopment

SLR worked for Fortuitous Partners and managed the preparation of the Tidewater Landing masterplan in response to a joint request for proposal from the City of Pawtucket and the Rhode Island Commerce Department. Fortuitous was selected as the successful developer by the City and State. The Tidewater Landing project envisions a complete revitalisation of the Seekonk River waterfront with waterfront access and amenities and a substantial development footprint. The development includes a new Sports Event Centre, hotel, substantial office and retail space anchored by a new soccer stadium that will be home to Rhode Island’s USL Championship soccer franchise. The project will be a large source of community pride for both the City and State. Since being selected by the City and State, SLR has continued to assist Fortuitous with site due diligence, permitting, and concept design. The project is anticipated to continue forward with more detailed design, regulatory permits. Construction is slated to begin in Spring 2022. SLR has been the lead civil, transportation, geotechnical, and water resource engineering firm along with landscape architectural firm for the project. SLR is supported by a talented team of architects on the vertical design of the building structures.
