SLR Consulting Archaeologist meets HRH, The Prince of Wales
Thursday, 7th July 2016, proved to be an extraordinary day for SLR Consulting’s Dr George Nash, Principal - Archaeology & Heritage. It was a day of great personal pride and achievement and one which he is not likely to forget. Dr Nash has been the Priory Archaeologist at St Mary’s Priory Church, in Abergavenny, for the past 19 years. This is an honorary position he took up in 1997.
Since the death of Dean Father Jeremy Winston (d. 2011), who had been the vicar at St. Mary’s for 18 years, George has been heavily involved in the installation of a large memorial window, within the Lewis Chapel. The window was completed earlier this year and was officially dedicated to Father Jeremy on 7th July 2016. Present at the dedication ceremony were Rt. Revd. Richard Pain, the Bishop of Monmouth and His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. Dr Nash was one of the guests of honour who was presented to the Prince at a post-ceremony event held to discuss the project and its development.
Should you wish to find out more about this project or the Cultural Heritage services that SLR is able to provide please contact George.
