Tom Green to address All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Highways Maintenance at House of Commons
SLR's European Head of Engineering, Tom Green, will present to the All Party Parliamentary Group (APGG) on Highways Maintenance at Westminster on 8th March 2016 on the topic of promoting circular principles in highway maintenance.
Circular principles in highway maintenance can bring considerable benefits if challenges addressed
The presentation will include: resource efficiency, recycling, life cycle approach, remediation of hazardous secondary materials, skills and training, and the role of big data.
The Highways Maintenance APPG is an opportunity for stakeholders from all sides of the sector to share current thinking; and an opportunity for those in industry to 'influence the influencers'. It was formed with the support of the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA) and The Institute of Highways Engineers (IHE).
The AIA, which represents manufacturers, is an off shoot of the Mineral Products Association (MPA) and Eurobitume. Its members include key players in the aggregates and bitumen sectors such as: Hanson, Aggregate Industries, Lafarge, Tarmac, CEMEX, Shell, Total, Shell Nynas, Colas and Breedon Aggregates
