Medium Combustion Plant Directive - Understanding the requirements and costs to businesses

The Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD) is in the process of being transposed to UK law, and will be implemented in England and Wales by December 2017.

The MCPD forms part of the EU's Clean Air Policy and fills a regulatory gap between small and large combustion plant; this new legislation will require operators to obtain and comply with the conditions of an environmental permit if they operate combustion plant with a thermal input in the 1-50MW range.

For a clear understanding of the requirements and costs to businesses of the implementation of the MCPD, SLR has developed a technical briefing note, summarising who is affected, the key dates, and important information on how to proceed. The briefing containing all of the information can be found here.
