Biography

Beth is a Principal Archaeologist at SLR, bringing over eight years of experience to the sector. She leads the Cultural Heritage team in Scotland and Ireland, primarily overseeing complex Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Impact Assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects. While her focus is mainly on renewable energy developments, such as S36 wind farms in Scotland and SID applications in Ireland, Beth's expertise spans across various sectors.

Before joining SLR as a consultant, Beth worked as a field archaeologist, where she supervised major watching briefs in Scotland and large-scale excavations in England. Her dual experience as a consultant and field archaeologist provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry, including detailed knowledge of planning legislation, policy, and guidance required in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.

Beth has established excellent working relationships with statutory consultees, including Historic Environment Scotland. Recently, she collaborated with them to approve the use of digital modelling to enhance the consultation process. Under her leadership, Beth's team continues to employ innovative approaches and techniques to tackle complex issues. Her extensive experience and close working relationships with clients have led to successful outcomes, including redesigns of large-scale schemes and technical support for public inquiries, effectively resolving complex cultural heritage challenges.
