Peter Lo

Biography

Peter Lo has over 3 decades of experience working across the life cycle of energy comprising multi-billions of transaction value. At SLR Consulting he is the Global Head of New Energy Systems & Technology and specialises in strategy informed by cutting edge simulation of key combinations of energy generation and storage solutions to optimise the transition to net zero for our clients.

He also acts as a Senior Global Commercial Advisor and Expert Witness for clients. He was previously Director of New Energy for China Light and Power (CLP); one of the largest power utilities based in Asia Pacific; developing deep networks into the largest innovation centres in Silicon Valley and Israel to help build CLP’s innovation ecosystem. He was also Global COO and Global VP Commercial for an energy transition startup in rapid growth.

Peter’s background includes delivering results on all aspects of the asset life cycle including senior roles leading optimisation and valuation of portfolios and projects – risks and returns, global financial modelling, market entry strategy, M&A, integration, divestment, consenting and development, construction and portfolio asset management.

Peter has a unique blend of commercial and technical skills combining Executive Leadership at IMD Business School, an MBA Finance (Distinction) from University of Edinburgh - where he was also awarded the Class Leadership Prize - and BEng (Hons) degree from Imperial College London in Mechanical Engineering - with Sponsorship. He is a Chartered Manager and Chartered Engineer.
