Crab Hill: Kingsgrove Community Hall

Client Name
St. Modwen
Location
Wantage, UK

Crab Hill is one of the South-East’s most significant strategic housing projects. Due to its location, scale and the inherent qualities of the site it presents a great opportunity to develop a high quality, sustainable mixed-use development. SLR's Place team led the masterplanning process and secured permission for up to 1500 residential units, combined with a primary school, a neighbourhood centre and other supporting mixed uses. SLR continue to be involved in the delivery of the masterplan through our appointment with St Modwen Development, providing masterplanning, landscape architecture and architectural services for key buildings, infrastructure works and significant areas of public open space.

SLR is commissioned to prepare detailed designs for the new community hall at Crab Hill, Oxfordshire. The building occupies a key landmark position fronting onto the new public square. SLR undertook intensive community consultation to test and refine the building brief to reflect the demands of the various community groups who will be accommodated within the building.
