Acciona Energia are developing one of the largest onshore wind projects in the world. Acciona required social impact support, to guide the project through construction and operation.
Solution
Our Social Performance team developed a comprehensive Social Impact Assessment and Social Impact Management Plan to guide the project through construction and operation.
These documents were informed by robust research to identify patterns and factors of change, social assets, and community values and behaviours. Environmental impacts, cumulative impacts, and transportation impacts were integrated into the Social Impact Assessment to provide a holistic and rounded understanding of the project area landscape.
Impact
The Social Impact Assessment and Social Impact Management Plan provided Acciona with an understanding of the potential social impacts and benefits of the project, as well as a framework to manage these to ensure the project positively impacts the lives of residents and stakeholders alike.
