Challenge
Techtronic Industries Company Limited (TTI) is a global leader in the manufacturing of power tools, accessories, hand tools, outdoor power equipment, floorcare and cleaning, with a diverse and complex value chain. To improve visibility of and mitigate sustainability-related risks, TTI engaged SLR to develop a sustainable procurement assessment specific to its Australia-New Zealand operations.
Solution
A comprehensive review was conducted of TTI’s supply chain in the Australia-New Zealand region, both through desktop data analysis and close engagement with the procurement function. Our team assessed potential sustainability-related risk hotspots for TTI’s value chain based on independent environmental, governance, social, and economic risk research. TTI’s current management approach was assessed over sustainability in its procurement practices and identified priorities in-line with best practices arising from ISO 20400 and examples from leading companies.
Impact
Our team provided a comprehensive review of TTI’s supply chain sustainability-related risk hotspots and potential management blind-spots supported by specific recommendations to mitigate challenges.
