SLR is currently looking to recruit a Graduate Consultant (Hydrogeology) for our Townsville/Emerald office.

SLR has a great opportunity within the Townsville/Emerald office for an ambitious individual to join our high performing and friendly Hydrology & Hydrogeologist team as a Graduate Hydrogeologist. This is a full-time position where you will be working with a great team of Hydrogeologist Consultants who are leaders in their field. This opportunity will provide you with the ability to become a specialist in a wide variety of project work.


As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range in assisting with preparing tenders and proposals, provide advice to clients and colleagues and working in a combination of office based and fieldwork activities. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of Hydrogeology methods and techniques to solve complex problems.

You will also be part of the first official graduate program within SLR and connect with other graduates around Australia in various sectors and be able to promote further opportunities to future graduates. With a great attitude and collaborative approach, you will enjoy working with others in the business and sharing success.


At a minimum, successful candidates must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology or Science with specialization in Hydrogeology or related field;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently as well as working well within a team environment

Experience in the following areas will be advantageous to your application:

  • Ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems, and develop appropriate solutions;
  • Field studies, ground and drill hole surveys, groundwater modelling
