Heba Megahed is a Managing Consultant specializing in Social Performance and ESG management. She has over 12 years of experience developing and implementing ESG strategies. She also has experience working on operational health and safety programs for project developers. She most recently has been assisting private and public sector entities to become innovative thought leaders in ESG.
She has worked on a number of international projects developing solutions to environmental and social impacts (aligning with internationally recognized frameworks like IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank Environmental and Social Standards, and others). She specializes in a wide range of social/environmental topics including social impact management, environmental justice assessments through her work with vulnerable communities/indigenous peoples, stakeholder engagement, livelihood restoration plans, resettlement action plans, human rights assessments, due diligence, and others.
Heba has assisted clients with identification of ESG topics that are material to the company and development of ESG strategies, development of ESG due diligence tools, sustainability reports and ESG policies. She also provides assistance to clients with enhancing their ESG performance through completion and submission of raters and rankers surveys; and with identifying human rights salient issues through assessments in line with the UN Guiding principles (and other international instruments).
Prior to consulting, Heba had over 10 years of experience working with companies (primarily Oil and Gas) on operational health and safety programs, environmental impact management and social impact management. She graduated with a bachelors and master's degree in Industrial Engineering.
