Ian Logan

Biography

Ian Logan is an Associate Director of OPEN - now part of SLR - and a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute. Prior to joining OPEN in 2009 he was an Associate at AECOM Design + Planning (formerly EDAW). Ian is an experienced landscape architect, working on a wide range of projects at OPEN he has gained an interest and expertise in masterplanning and urban design.

Ian’s main area of focus is currently in providing key design and project management roles in preparing and helping deliver several large-scale master plan projects including Shawfair in Edinburgh, Winchburgh in West Lothian and Greenferns in Aberdeen. Working on masterplan projects from inception and feasibility, through the Planning process, Ian has experience in a wide range of environmental and technical areas. Ian also has considerable experience in community and stakeholder consultation, as an integral part of the masterplan process. The experience Ian has gained through managing and working on a variety of projects has ensured he has developed a strong understanding of the development process and appreciation of the requirements of clients, from initial capacity studies and landscape assessment work, through to completion of planning applications and the delivery of the Masterplan proposals on site.
