Robin McKillop
Climate Resilience Lead, Principal Geomorphologist
Canada
Biography
Robin McKillop is a Principal Geomorphologist and Project Manager with more than 20 years of experience leveraging his in-depth knowledge of hillslope processes, river dynamics, glacial landforms and permafrost to develop innovative and practical approaches for assessing and overcoming geological and environmental challenges in a variety of settings.
Robin has led major terrain mapping and geohazard programs for municipal, linear infrastructure and resource development projects across Canada, including in Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and northern regions of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Labrador, as a basis for aggregate resource assessment, land use planning, engineering applications, mineral exploration, archaeological studies and terrestrial ecosystem mapping.
He is recognized in Canada as a leader in the interpretation of river dynamics, permafrost and mass movement processes from aerial photography and LiDAR data. Robin’s fluvial geomorphology experience has enabled him to complete river erosion and flood hazard assessments, site road crossings that minimize risk to infrastructure, and develop ‘natural channel designs’ for stream realignment and restoration projects.
