Challenge
SLR are providing detailed Highway advice for the delivery 1250 units for Halley Developments. This is part of a wider consortium for the Chelmsford Garden Community of 4,500 homes. As part of the consortium SLR is leading on the detailed design of the Northern Radial Distribution Road (NRDR).
Solution
SLR’s Transport Engineering team provided detailed advice to develop the Masterplan and the NRDR, this has allowed the Masterplan to be developed to high level of detail and 3D design to minimise risk further into the project. The Engineering team then led the design team on the detailed design for the on-site spine roads and the NRDR, with close liaison with other consortium members.
Impact
The SLR team are currently taking the two design packages through the S278/S38 Technical Approval process with Essex County Council.
