Discipline team: Air Quality

Job Description

Are you an experienced Air Quality professional looking for an opportunity to progress, and to develop your commercial experience alongside your technical expertise? Or perhaps currently leading a team technically and commercially but now looking for your next move with real potential to take on a leadership role? As part of ongoing plans for expansion, SLR is looking to bring new talent into its established Air Quality team at Associate or Principal grade, to help lead its continued technical and commercial growth across its UK office network; and with a remit to help lead business development within both their own and SLR's existing clients, as well as to lead on delivery of a technical project workload.

SLR’s “one team” culture, at the heart of its business and central to further plans to expand encourages collaborative working within a supportive environment; and the person (or persons) joining will do so as part of a single, region-wide Air Quality team, and with the resource of its existing expertise to ensure project delivery of new work to the highest standards.

SLR offers an enviable range of 31 individual Environmental, Advisory and Engineering technical disciplines, again all working in unison; so the range of services which we are able to offer clients is unrivalled; and cross discipline collaborative working and breadth of expertise available is key to SLR’s ongoing success.

The role presents a great opportunity to combine SLR’s existing resources with your own expertise and knowledge, and to play a key role in shaping how the team grows moving forward.

Location is flexible – our disciplines all work UK-wide as a single team so for the right individual we can usually accommodate a new role in most locations. However an appointment in an office where we currently have a presence – Bristol, Bradford on Avon, Manchester, London, Guildford – or in one of our larger offices such as Nottingham, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield or Worcester – this would be preferable.

Along with competitive salaries, SLR staff also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and travel insurance and pension contributions and a structured career path with real opportunities for progression. Our comprehensive annual review process ensures that the efforts of our staff remain adequately recognised and rewarded, and our family friendly policies help staff balance the needs of professional and family life

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an air quality specialist, you will be required to promote the SLR air quality team in the marketplace, help facilitate further growth and play a direct role in the delivery of a diverse range of projects.

The successful candidate will join an exciting and dynamic team, and become involved in all aspects of project delivery from client liaison and task / project management, to report production and business development. This will include detailed dispersion modelling and assessment of transport and industrial air quality, odour assessments, input into EIAs and Environmental Permit applications and ambient air quality and odour monitoring for projects in the UK and abroad.

Person Specification Summary

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
• Experienced Air Quality consultant who can demonstrate both technical and commercial experience in a similar role.
• Line management experience to lead and further develop a regional team;
• Technical experience to include dispersion modelling (Aermod/ADMS/ADMS Roads/DRMB), AQ, Dust and Odour Assessments
• Confident in both managing existing client relationships and developing new clients/workloads
