An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal consultant to grow our Marine Science team in Australia or New Zealand. Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in consulting, government or industry. You will enjoy undertaking project work whilst mentoring team members and developing client relationships throughout the region. You will have strong and proven business development skills along with a network of clients.
This is a great opportunity for a driven and motivated individual to further develop their skills in a successful environmental consulting firm. The successful applicant will be pivotal to the continued development of the Marine Science team and will assist in the growth of the discipline nationally.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
= Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
= Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies
= Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
= Delivering clear and precise, high quality reports
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
= A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
= Minimum of 10 years' experience in Marine Science.
= Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects
= Experience in preparing impact assessments and environmental risk assessments
= An established client network
= Proven business development skills
= Experience with the offshore oil and gas sector would be advantageous
= Working knowledge of Australian/New Zealand environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines
= Excellent written and verbal communication skills
= Australian / New Zealand Citizenship or rights to work in Australia / New Zealand
= Excellent driving history and hold a current driver's license
