Feasibility advice for Southside Shopping Centre

Challenge
SLR has been retained by Landsec to provide feasibility advice on the potential redevelopment of the Southside Shopping Centre, located in the London Borough of Wandsworth.
The masterplan involves the construction of around 1,587 new residential flats and 26,860 sqm of commercial floorspace. The 428 existing residential flats located within the site will be retained, as will approximately 13,051 sq m of the existing shopping centre. The retained floorspace will comprise the leisure, food & beverage and cinema facilities at the south of the site.
Solution
We have reviewed the masterplan and undertaken surveys to determine existing parking demand at the site by existing visitors and residents. We will also survey current service yards to review how these facilities could be rationalised.
Impact
At a strategic level, we will provide input on the potential issues associated with the phasing of the project to ensure it minimises disruption for existing residents and visitors to the shopping centre, which will remain operational during development.
