Challenge
SLR assisted Wollondilly Shire Council (WSC) with client-side project management services in relation to the planned upgrade of Silverdale Road between Taylors Road, Silverdale and the Nepean River Crossing, Wallacia.
The work follows on from SLR’s involvement with WSC’s successful funding application for the upgrade works as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Program. By supplementing Council’s project management resources, SLR is able to extract maximum value from third-party consultants by managing program, commercials, quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Our team also provides technical expertise by reviewing design drawings and technical reports and delivers some in-house services such as traffic modelling and graphic design where a quick turnaround is required.
In addition, our scope of work under the overall project management commission includes a significant stakeholder engagement component. SLR facilitates monthly Project Control Group meetings with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) and Council representatives to ensure the funding program obligations and milestones are adhered to.
SLR also manages a wide range of stakeholder consultation activities on behalf of Council, including:
- Roundtable or online workshops with planning and engineering staff from key delivery partners Penrith City Council, Infrastructure NSW and TfNSW.
- Engagement with NSW State Emergency Service to discuss flood evacuation routes.
- Liaison with Sydney Water to discuss interface with major
new pipeline. - Engagement with key internal stakeholders at Wollondilly Shire Council, including the Executive team and Councillors.
