Status

The Scoping and EIA process presents several opportunities for Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) to review and comment on the environmental reports prepared for the proposed NMF. During the Scoping Phase, a Draft Scoping Report was made available to I&APs for comment (from 15 November 2023 to 15 December 2023). The Final Scoping Report, inclusive of I&AP comments, was accepted by the MEFT on 05 March 2024.

The process has advanced to the Impact Assessment Phase and SLR has compiled a draft EIA Report, which is now available for a 21-day review and comment period from 09 August to 02 September 2024. This provides an opportunity for I&APs to comment on any aspect of the proposed NMF and the impact assessment findings.

Copies of the draft EIA report are available at the Arandis Community Library for the duration of the comment period.

We cordially invite all I&APs to attend the public meeting as detailed below. The objectives of the Environmental Impact Assessment phase public meeting are to provide an overview of the NMF and to present the findings of the impact assessment process, as well as provide stakeholders a further opportunity to comment on the EIA Report.

Location: Arandis

Venue: Arandis Town Hall

Date and Time: 22 August 2024 18h00 – 19h30

Comments on the draft EIA Report should reach SLR by no later than Monday, 02 September 2024 using the contact details below:
