We support our clients to secure, maintain and ultimately surrender environmental permits to enable them to effectively comply with legal requirements. SLR is experienced with regulator liaison to help guide our clients through the permitting process. SLR has a proven track record across a wide range of waste and industrial activities in transfer, closure and surrender of environmental permits.
Clients benefit from our support in all areas of environmental management, including developing and maintaining integrated and discipline-specific management systems for environment, health & safety and energy. Our expertise extends to support in achieving and maintaining certification with ISO management system standards (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001).
We can provide a range of compliance services to help our clients comply with environmental and health & safety law obligations, and can assist in the preparation and regular maintenance of environmental and health & safety legal registers. Our expertise also extends to compliance audits to verify that our clients are meeting environmental and health & safety legal requirements.
SLR assists clients with competency training including environmental law, environmental management and sustainability. This training provides delegates with an understanding of the structure of environmental law, the roles and functions of the regulators, and how sanctions can be applied in the event of non-compliant activities; covers strategy development, implementation, external disclosures and continual improvement, providing delegates with education and confidence to manage environmental issues independently.
We can also prepare climate change risk assessments (CCRA) to gauge the level of risk from different climate variables, and support clients in producing climate change adaptation plans to assist with preparation for future changes in climate. This work assists our clients in managing climate resilience and risk for their business. Assessment of climate change risk is required for organisations holding an environmental permit in England & Wales. Organisations working towards, or currently maintaining ISO management system certification, also need to consider climate change and the relevance to their business.
SLR are well versed in undertaking assurance of greenhouse gas (GHG) carbon accounting related datasets to produce ISAE 3000 compliant assurance statements for clients to use in external reporting and confidential management reports to provide relevant feedback and recommendations for managing improvement.
