Biography
Ben is based in our Dunedin office and has over 20 years of consulting experience in New Zealand and specialises in assessments of freshwater communities.
Ben’s experience in freshwater ecosystem monitoring includes water quality, periphyton, macrophyte, macroinvertebrate and fish community monitoring in streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands. These have involved receiving water monitoring in relation to discharge consents and collation and review of scientific and resource management literature for AEE preparation.
Ben also has significant experience in the assessment and mitigation of environmental effects in freshwater environments, including assessing consent compliance, low flow and fluctuating flow assessments, IFIM surveys, fish passage assessments and habitat restoration. In conjunction with this, he manages the processing of algae, invertebrate, and fish samples in the laboratory within our Dunedin office.
