Heather Warren

Biography

Heather is the Director of Operations at SLR Better Mining. With a background in economics and a passion for using data to inform sound decision-making, she leads responsible sourcing programs that drive more sustainable practices in artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) across Africa. Her work includes risk monitoring, digital traceability, and stakeholder engagement to improve transparency and social outcomes in mineral supply chains.

Heather brings over 15 years of international experience across the mining, energy, infrastructure, and sustainability sectors. She has worked in more than 15 countries globally, combining consulting expertise with leadership in global marketing to deliver strategic, impact-focused solutions.

She holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in economics from the University of Cape Town and is committed to advancing sustainability through practical, data-driven approaches and strong cross-sector partnerships.
