Rob Hounsome

Biography

Rob is SLR’s Managing Director for Europe and the Middle East & Africa. In this role he works closely with SLR’s Executive & Regional Management Teams to strategically develop and grow SLR’s operations.

Rob is a strategic and operational business leader with wide-ranging experience gained over 30 years of building and leading large, integrated consultancy teams in multiple geographies across diverse engineering and scientific disciplines. A Geochemist by training, Rob’s technical career has evolved to a focus on complex environmental and social issues. His experience has ranged from supporting National Government and International Agencies with the development and application of customised sustainability tools through to completing ESDDs and ESIAs to international standards. He has completed a number of research and consultancy technical assignments in the fields of Climate Change and Pollution & Waste and has been expert witness several high-profile arbitration cases. Rob has delivered projects in 62 countries in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing/Industrial and Infrastructure sectors and with Finance institutions.
