Biography

Steve studied at the University of St Andrews, Scotland where he graduated in Physical Geography and Geoscience in 2009. Following this, Steve worked briefly for Forestry Commission Scotland as a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician before working for The Wildlife Information Centre as GIS and Data Officer for 9 years, supplying biodiversity data to a wide range of clients in order to support development, conservation and biological recording. In these roles, Steve gained experience in data management, data analysis and map design.

At SLR Steve has worked on various onshore and offshore wind energy projects and masterplans across the UK, from initial feasibility studies and landscape visual impact assessments to residential visual amenity assessments. Steve produces graphics detailing theoretical visibility analyses, designations, visual receptors, topography and landscape character assessment in order to carry out this work, as well as visualisations and photomontages of wind energy projects.
