SLR announces key advisory appointment in Asia Pacific

SLR would like to announce the senior appointment of Technical Director Ian Stupple. Ian will assist with the continued growth of the firm’s Waste and Resources Management services in the Asia Pacific region, with a regional focus on New Zealand, where he will be based.

With over 20 years’ experience leading environmental strategy and operations in a commercial environment within local government, Ian is highly skilled at managing specialist teams, relationship management and delivering large capital and procurement projects. Prior to SLR, Ian was the General Manager for Waste Solutions at Auckland City Council, where he led the delivery of the largest waste transformation programme in Australasia.

In addition to being a sought-after waste industry expert throughout New Zealand and Australia, Ian is also a board member of the Waste Management Institute of NZ (WasteMINZ).

SLR’s Asia Pacific Regional Manager Paul Gardiner added:

“Our Waste and Resources Management team here in the Asia Pacific region continues to grow from strength to strength. To have someone of Ian’s calibre join the organisation, firmly positions SLR as a global leader in this specialist field. Ian will work closely with Andy Street - International Director for Waste and Resource Management based in the UK, to ensure that we are able to tap into the key learnings and expertise generated from our involvement in some of the world’s largest energy from waste and alternative waste technology projects. This combined expertise and knowledge bank will benefit clients across all our business sectors”
