SLR Consulting has appointed carbon management expert Julie Gartside to head up its new Carbon and Energy Management team (C&EM).
Julie, who has 15 years’ experience in developing and implementing carbon strategies for clients, most recently at SKM Enviros (now Jacobs), is joined in the new C&EM team by a number of her former colleagues. The growing team will build on SLR’s existing expertise to provide support on carbon strategy and compliance, as well support companies to achieve cuts in energy use and carbon emissions.
With SLR’s recently-opened Manchester office as its main hub, the C&EM team has already secured a significant project with techUK; a trade association representing the technology industry, to manage its Climate Change Agreement for data centres.
Commenting on her appointment, Julie said: “I am impressed by SLR’s dynamic and collaborative approach with its clients and look forward to developing relationships across the carbon and energy management area − as well as supporting the company’s existing capability in delivering renewable and waste to energy generation projects.”
Alan Edwards, Managing Director of SLR Consulting Ltd (UK), added: “Julie and her C&EM colleagues provide a great extension to our services to deliver value-added insight and solutions to clients.”
“A number of industry high-fliers have been attracted to SLR following recent corporate mergers among our competitors and, with ongoing consolidation in the market place, we believe that there will be an increasing number of opportunities for specialist providers of environmental consultancies services, both in terms of new recruits and new clients.”
