Added Depth to the SLR Acoustics Discipline

Michael will join the Sydney Office and bring over 12 years’ experience undertaking detailed construction and operational noise and vibration assessments on large infrastructure projects.  Michael’s special expertise includes assessment and control of airborne noise, ground-borne noise, and vibration.  Michael has undertaken extensive research and measurements of existing and proposed underground rail networks.  These projects have led to the development of specialised software to calculate the emission and transmission of ground-borne noise and vibration.

Charles will join the Brisbane Office and bring over 16 years’ experience as a skilled researcher. He has specialised knowledge of control systems, vibration, acoustics, metal fatigue, data acquisition and analysis, dynamic modelling from first principles and operator feedback systems. Charles’ consulting experience is based in the mining, oil and gas, sheet metal, power, defence, maritime, water, civil and construction industries.

SLR Operations Manager Shane Elkin commented:

“Michael and Charles bring different skills into our Acoustics and Vibration team.  Both of them bring very strong technical skills to SLR in their respective fields, thereby further enhancing our reputation for providing high quality and pragmatic consulting advice to our clients.”

This news follows SLR’s strong attendance and contribution at this week’s Australian Acoustical Society conference in Brisbane and the Association of Australian Acoustical Consultants Annual General Meeting scheduled for this weekend in Kingscliff.
