Breakfast seminar summary: Getting permissions for housing in 2018

Bristol - On Wednesday, 20th June SLR Consulting, Ashfords LLP and Landmark Chambers held a summer breakfast seminar at Ashfords offices in Bristol. The event focused on the ongoing developments in planning and infrastructure and offered attendees an insight into the getting permissions for housing developments in the current climate. The seminar attracted developers, agents, housebuilders and architects from Bristol and the surrounding area.

'Meet the Professionals' Landscape Event - 7th March

SLR was pleased to participate in the “Meet the Professionals’ Event at the University of Sheffield on 7th March 2018. The day was facilitated by the LANDMARK team, the student social of the Department of Landscape Architecture and was well attended by landscape practices and environmental consultancies as well as students on various years of the degree and post-graduate courses. SLR’s exhibition stand was hosted by Frances Delaney, Associate Landscape Architect based in SLR’s Nottingham office. The event allowed SLR to showcase its portfolio of landscape architecture project work in the built environment, power, infrastructure, mining and minerals sectors.

SLR Speaking at AAPG's Geothermal Cross-Over Technology Workshop

​SLR’s Nick O’Neill, Director – Geology, will shortly be speaking at AAPG’s Geothermal Cross-Over Technology Workshop. Taking place on 25-26 of April, the workshop has been designed to concentrate on the potential for cross-over technologies and experiences between the petroleum and geothermal industries. It will look to observe the opportunities that exist for improving the efficiencies of both industries; for maintaining delivery of energy to society; and for reducing the impact on the Earth of doing so.

SLR to Present at IAIA17 in Montreal

Associate Ecologist with SLR, Nicola Faulks, will be presenting a paper based around habitat mapping, methodology and mitigation at IAIA17 in Montreal from the 4-7th of April. The theme of the conference is ‘Impact Assessment’s Contribution to the Global Efforts in Addressing Climate Change’, and Nicola will be joined by a wealth of other speakers discussing topics from climate finance and risk management, to climate change, extreme events and impact assessment.
