We are very pleased to officially welcome Dayan Jayasekera (DJ) to SLR in his new role as our Asia Pacific Engineering and Design Service Line Director. Dayan is currently splitting his time between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane offices in Queensland, Australia.

With over 25 years in various Management and Director roles within the construction, development and consulting sectors across Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, DJ will be an exceptional addition and leader within our business.

On his reasons for joining, DJ said “I joined SLR because of the established technical expertise that they already had in place, which I know current and future clients will value. I enjoy working with consultants who have the technical capability to solve our clients’ biggest challenges. Personally, I’m passionate about the regions transition to renewable energy, and the integral role that good engineering and design plays in making projects viable and valuable for the future”

Regarding DJ’s appointment Asia Pacific Managing Director, Paul Gardiner, commented ‘As an engineer myself, I recognise and value the essential role that our Engineering and Design teams play in being able to deliver on our purpose of Making Sustainability Happen. I’m looking forward to seeing DJ’s vision, energy and collaborative nature thrive within the SLR ‘One Team’ environment”

The Engineering and Design group within the Asia Pacific region currently consists of our Civil and Structural Engineering led by Dominee Rye, Geotechnical Engineering and Mine Waste Engineering led by Ben Tarrant, Transport Advisory led by Jeffrey Baczynski, Mining Advisory led by Valeria Wilson and Sustainable Waste Management led by Chris Hambling.
