Biography
Esteban Acuña has over 25 years of experience in production, exploration, and mineral resource calculation. He is a Registered Member and Competent Person, Chilean Mining Commission. He is especially adept at identifying risks associated with Mineral Resource estimation and thus maximizing the accuracy of the economic potential of mining investments. One of Esteban’s areas of expertise is geostatistics, and he was a professor of geostatistics at Universidad Católica del Norte, Chile.
Esteban’s experience covers a broad range of commodities including gold, silver, copper, cobalt, iron ore, molybdenum, niobium, nickel, phosphorus, lead, rare earth oxides (REO), zin and platinum in a variety of deposit types (magmatic, porphyries, orogenic, epithermal, skarns, iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG), banded iron formations (BIF), volcanogenic massive sulfides (VMS)), from exploration stages to Feasibility Studies, and producing mines.
Prior to joining SLR, Esteban spent ten years with RPMGlobal. As a Principal Resource Geologist, he completed Mineral Resource estimates, Mineral Resource audits, and due diligence reviews of mining projects in connection with financings and acquisitions.
Esteban is proficient in using Vulcan and uses Supervisor and Leapfrog software. He is fluent in Spanish and English and has technical knowledge of Portuguese
