Biography

Ester Gustavo is an Associate Hydrogeologist and Project Manager working on and managing groundwater-related projects. She has 14 years of experience in the groundwater sector, experience which she has gained through fieldwork by supervising test-pumping, air percussion, and mud rotary drilling of production, monitoring and dewatering boreholes, as well as rehabilitation of boreholes for rural water supply projects.

Ester has further gained experience in conducting desktop studies, hydrocensus, Arc-GIS, borehole camera surveying, borehole profiling, drilling and abstraction permit applications, effluent permits, and test-pumping evaluation with the Test Pumping Analysis Software (TPA). Borehole designing with software WINLOG, soil sampling, and photoionisation detections at petroleum depots have since been added to her experience.

She has contributed, as a groundwater specialist, to EIAs for the mining, agricultural, industrial, and infrastructure sectors in Namibia and has further been involved in groundwater investigations and water supply projects for industries, mines, power sector, government ministries, and private farmers. Ester also manages the groundwater pollution monitoring program for local uranium, iron, rare earth elements, and copper mines.
