Biography
Hamish is based in our Tauranga office and has over 18 years of experience in ecology and resource management in New Zealand across ecological consultancy, not-for-profit environmental organisations, and regional councils. He provides strategic environmental advice to clients and communicates effectively with various audiences, including local and central government, landowners, and tāngata whenua.
Hamish has experience in a wide range of terrestrial habitats across New Zealand, involving significance assessment, vegetation survey and classification, wetland survey and management, ecological restoration and re-creation, fauna survey, catchment management, and impact assessment. His work ranges from surveying giant Powelliphanta snails on the Stockton Plateau on the West Coast to estuarine restoration and riparian planting in the Bay of Plenty and stream restoration in urban Auckland.
