Biography
Dr Xander Gwynn is a Technical Director within SLR's Mining Advisory team in Europe and runs the Mechanics Group. He is a chartered (CEng) rock mechanics engineer who has a BSc (Hons) degree in Engineering Geology & Geotechnics and a PhD in Earth Resources from the Camborne School of Mines. He has 19 years of post-graduate experience in the extractive industries, working as a mining-geotechnical engineer for operations and consulting practices in different regions of the world. Whilst his team is primarily composed of rock mechanics engineers, he also manages ESG consultants, project controllers, and project managers. Xander and his team support the wider SLR mining team in specialised rock mechanics projects, complex project management, and ESG tasks.
