Challenge

Southbank Place Apartments is a large development set back from adjoining buildings, with concealed parking and street front retail which activates the local area. The complex itself is a multi-award winner, with the Housing Industry Associations Victoria Apartment Complex of the Year in 2019, and the Urban Development Institute of Australia VIC 2019 Awards for Excellence – High Density Development above 10 storeys.

Solution

The attention to detail of Southbank Place Apartments was highlighted as a standout feature of this project, particularly regarding the careful soundproofing of the complex. Thoughtful consideration of space, light and sound in a high density environment are the core elementsrequired to maximise comfort.
