Challenge

To satisfy a Section 106 planning condition, SLR was commissioned by Bovis Homes to produce a Residential Travel Pack for a new development of 150 homes in Essex.

Solution

SLR were tasked with creating a Sustainable Travel Pack for issue to all new residents. The work involved the collection of background data including walking/cycling information, public transport routes/timetable information, local area facilities and amenities and the compilation of this data in a high quality, user-friendly booklet for issue to new residents to encourage their use of sustainable modes of travel.

The work involved regular liaison with residents to communicate the aims of the Travel Plan and disseminate up to date travel information.

The SLR team were also required to develop a schedule of monitoring to assess the success of the Travel Plan against its targets and provide full reporting back to the Local Authority to enable the timely discharge of the planning condition.
