SLR is currently looking to recruit a Graduate Consultant (Environmental Management, Planning & Approvals) for our Brisbane office.

SLR has a great opportunity within the Brisbane office for an ambitious individual to join our high performing and friendly Environmental Management, Planning & Approvals team as a Graduate Consultant. This is a full-time position where you will be working with a great team of environmental consultants who are leaders in their field. This opportunity will provide you with the ability to become an environmental specialist in a wide variety of project work.


As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range from initial project scoping, to impact assessment and project approval, post-approval, environmental compliance, rehabilitation and closure planning. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop knowledge and techniques to solve complex problems.

You will also be part of the first official graduate program within SLR and connect with other graduates around Australia in various sectors and be able to promote further opportunities to future graduates. With a great attitude and collaborative approach, you will enjoy working with others in the business and sharing success.


At a minimum, successful candidates must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering or Science or related field;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and fluency in written and spoken English; and
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently and to work well within a team environment.

Experience in the following areas will be advantageous to your application:

  • Ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems, and develop appropriate solutions; and
  • Environmental impact assessments, and post-approval compliance
