In 2014, CIRIA (the Construction Industry Research and Information Association) in conjunction with SLR Consulting and a wider Project Steering Group released new guidance: ‘Containment systems for the systems for the prevention of pollution: Secondary, tertiary and other measures for industrial and commercial premises’ (C736). CIRIA have recently announced plans to begin the process of reviewing and updating the guidance, starting with an industry consultation. Through SLR’s long-standing attorney relationship, our team was retained in April 2016 to conduct a feasibility study for the Avison Lumber Company, located in Molalla, Oregon. Mr. Miller has over 26 years of professional consulting experience. He is responsible for supervising technical staff and working with customers to ensure that strategic project deliverables are responsive to our client’s business needs.
Mr. Miller has considerable experience with all aspects of environmental assessment, planning, permitting, remediation, site regulatory closure, management, and costing. Mr. Miller has experience with large, complex environmental cleanup projects involving multi-party agreements, multi-agency involvement, and tribal and landowner issues. Mr. Miller regularly interacts with regulatory agencies on matters such as site assessment, source control evaluations, human health and ecological risk assessments, feasibility studies, and site remediation.
Mr. Miller has prepared and overseen the preparation of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for a wide range of facilities. Mr. Miller has prepared and overseen the implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), assisted facilities with design of stormwater system and stormwater treatment, and developed best-management practices to reduce select stormwater pollutants.
