We’re delighted to share the news that SLR has acquired frc environmental (FRC). This acquisition will further enhance our existing Ecology and Biodiversity capabilities, strengthening our ability to assist clients with Natural Capital issues; partnering with them in Making Sustainability Happen.

FRC is a 18-person specialist aquatic ecology consultancy group specialising in freshwater, estuarine and marine environments. Based in Cleveland, a bayside suburb east of Brisbane, they currently support clients across a broad range of industries, most commonly stakeholders in the management of riparian coastal lands and waters.

The addition of FRC builds upon the successful expansion of our aquatic ecology services in Western Australia, and our long-standing Marine Science capabilities in New Zealand. By establishing a presence in South East Queensland, we can continue to build upon our Asia Pacific aquatic, marine and terrestrial capabilities.

Paul Gardiner, SLR Asia Pacific Managing Director said “I’m pleased to welcome the FRC team into SLR. Environmental consulting and technical excellence have always been at the heart of the sustainable solutions we provide our clients. With this acquisition, we are not only expanding our service offering within South East Queensland, but further enhancing our global Natural Capital expertise.”

FRC Managing Principal, Dr John Thorogood, commented “FRC’s ecologists and environmental scientists are recognised experts in their field, and have been our client’s aquatic consultant of choice for over 40 years. To now be part of SLR, a global leader in full-spectrum sustainability solutions, is pretty exciting. SLR’s position globally, coupled with their similar service provision in ecology, biodiversity, and natural capital, made it a solid home for us. We are looking forward to the opportunities that our enhanced service offering will bring to both our staff, and our clients.”

Please visit the FRC website for more details on their services, client experience, team and capabilities.
