Ian Southwell

Biography

Ian is the Senior Technical Discipline Manager for the European Transport and Mobility Planning team with more than 15 years’ experience in transport planning. As well as managing more than 100 transport planners, Ian also works on and manages a wide variety of projects, including large mixed-use schemes in London, strategic residential sites across the UK, and a variety of projects in Cardiff, Bristol and the South West.

Ian is experienced in developing mobility strategies for more complex sites, and understands the key to a successful strategy is engagement with key stakeholders at an early stage. Ian also works closely with our International Research team, applying the latest research and development in Mobility from across the EU to projects here in the UK.

Outside of work Ian is a keen runner, and he is also coach of his son’s cricket team.
