Brisbane Waters Private Hospital Expansion

Challenge

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialist health services including leading surgical practices, rehabilitation, infectious disease specialists, and geriatric medicine. The focus of the expansion was to create a mental health offering to the community, including inpatient and day consulting facilities.

SLR were engaged by Healthe Care to prepare and co-ordinate the development approval for alterations to the health services facility known as the Brisbane Waters Private Hospital, including the construction of a first floor extension.

Solution

Our Planning Team have a long term relationship with Healthe Care, and have a detailed understanding of their operations and needs.

SLR were instrumental in securing the development approval, including briefing and presentations to the Regional Planning Panel. Our Planning Team have a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the legislative requirements and constraints for health services facilities in New South Wales.

Impact

The proposal aims to further enhance the existing medical services by providing a new modern ward at the hospital to further increase the ability of the hospital to service the growing Central Coast region.

The proposal enables the addition of a new floor to the northern hospital ward resulting in an additional 27 patient rooms, six group rooms, four consulting rooms, gym, art room, breakout space, and staff rooms. The proposed development will also provide a much-needed mental health facility to the area.

Collaboration with the design team and SLR’s Transport Advisory and Landscape Architecture Teams ensured a successful and efficient approvals process was experienced for the project.
