Energy assurance for EDF

Challenge

EDF Energy is the United Kingdom’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity. It is one of the main suppliers of gas and electricity to domestic and commercial customers. They contacted Corporate Citizenship (an SLR company) as they were seeking to refresh the assurance services for ‘Our Better Energy Ambitions’ – their key sustainability reporting document – and because they wanted an assurance provider that would truly deliver added value.

Solution

Working with EDF Energy’s in-house team and meeting tight deadlines, Corporate Citizenship completed the assurance, delivering an assurance statement and a value-adding management letter.

We presented our findings to the management team in a workshop and, as a result of our recommendations, conducted in depth work on two of EDF Energy’s key areas of impact.

Impact

Our assurance process and the resultant outputs has enabled EDF Energy to continue on its trajectory of improvement in its sustainability reporting, strategy and Better Energy Ambitions.
