We are delighted to welcome Dr Emma Wells to SLR’s Archaeology & Heritage team in Europe. Emma joins us as a Principal Historic Buildings Consultant, based in Leeds, but with a UK wide remit to lead and develop SLR’s offering in the built heritage sector.
Emma has significant and diverse experience in managing change across the historic built environment, and within the commercial, private, and academic sectors. As a full Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (FSA), Emma has specialisms in assessment, impact and significance, the nuances of ‘setting’ and design, heritage planning policy and law pertaining to listed buildings and the historic environment more broadly, as well as in appraisals and advice on nationally significant infrastructure and development, all across both the secular and eccleisastical fields.
Duncan Thomas, Technical Discipline Manager for SLR’s Archaeology & Heritage Team in Europe, commented “it is great to have Emma on board during what is an exciting period of growth and continued development for the team. I am confident that Emma’s extensive experience and proven leadership capability within this sector will greatly assist our clients with the delivery of ongoing historic buildings projects and will enhance and diversify SLR’s offering into the built environment sector through specialist commercial advice to existing and new clients.”
Emma commented "I am delighted to be joining SLR, a company which not only promotes a one-team interdisciplinary culture, but also seeks to provide ambitious and innovative solutions to bridge past and future historic landscapes on an enviable global scale."
