We’re delighted to share the news that SLR has acquired Wetland Research and Management (WRM), further enhancing our Ecology and Biodiversity capabilities and strengthening SLR’s overall offering associated with assisting clients with Natural Capital issues.

WRM is a 15-person specialist aquatic ecology consultancy group with a focus on the management of wetlands, rivers and estuaries across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Perth, Western Australia, they are an experienced team of scientists who pride themselves on providing high quality technical assessment of aquatic environments and advice on the evaluation, management, and mitigation of impacts on these natural habitats.

WRM’s specialist capabilities and focus on technical excellence complement the existing expertise resident in our established Marine Science and Ecology & Biodiversity teams within SLR, and further builds upon our investment last year in 360 Environmental, also based in Western Australia. (SLR acquires 360 Environmental)

Neil Penhall, SLR’s Chief Executive said “I’m pleased to welcome the WRM team into SLR. Environmental consulting and technical excellence have always been at the heart of the sustainable solutions we provide our clients. With this acquisition, we are not only expanding our geographic footprint within Western Australia, but further enhancing our Natural Capital expertise”

WRM Director, Andrew Storey, commented “WRM has been providing best-practice aquatic ecological services to a broad client base across Australasia for approaching 30 years. Joining the SLR team is the exciting next step in the development of the WRM aquatic ecology team, allowing us to further grow and build synergies with the existing Marine Science and Ecology & Biodiversity teams within SLR. We are looking forward to the opportunities that our enhanced service offering will bring to both our staff, and our clients”
