Dredging and Dredged Material Management - Western Port

SLR is currently leading a series of multi-phased studies to sustainably manage the loading and relocation of accumulated sediment within and adjacent to Western Port boating facilities (marina’s, harbour basins and access channels). Phases include; development and implementation of sediment sampling and analysis plans in accordance with best practice guidelines, dredged material management options analysis, placement area identification, impact assessment, strategy development and approvals facilitation (Marine and Coastal Act (2018) consent and works approval under the Port Management Act 1995.

Key outputs include detailed benthic habitat maps, a hydrodynamic, sediment transport and water quality model, dredged material management plans and strategies for future maintenance works.
