
Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project

The construction of the Nenskra HPP (280MW, 725m head, 135m-high rockfill dam) began in 2015 with the sponsors having approached the EBRD, the ADB, the EIB and the AIIB to secure international funding.
SLR prepared the international ESIA: social impact assessment, biodiversity impact assessment, hydrology and water quality impact assessment, natural hazards assessment, ESMP, land acquisition and livelihood restoration plan, stakeholder engagement plan, cumulative impact assessment.
In 2017, SLR has been working on the Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restoration Plan (LALRP) for the Nenskra Hydro Power Project and its associated facilities. The Project has led to the economic displacement of 86 households. The activities performed include the supervision and the analysis of socioeconomic data to produce a baseline and an appropriate entitlements matrix. SLR has also conducted the supervision of the census of project affected persons and the inventory of losses of assets as well as the assessment of the impacts and of the need for additional livelihood restoration measures. All these activities were undertaken in consultation with project affected persons.
