Neves Corvo Mine: Surface Water Management & Infrastructure

SLR are assisting Lundin Mining Corporation to improve their surface water management system for an operational underground Zinc mine. The Neves-Corvo polymetallic base metal mine is located approximately 220km southeast of Lisbon in the Alentejo province of southern Portugal.
SLR have adopted a risk based approach to the scope, where we will integrate the expected complex climatic issues with optimised engineering designs, world-leading mine water management experience, permitting considerations, mine expansion plans and also take cognisance of our client’s responsible mining policy.
The overall aim is to;
• Minimise nuisance surface water flooding which may disrupt operations;
• Reduce risks caused by sedimentation and reduce maintenance costs of such; and
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
